Shift Summary (Registered Nurse – Nights)
Schedule:
Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts
Role:
Registered Nurse responsible for delivering and coordinating quality patient care
Experience:
Minimum 2 years bedside clinical experience (highly desired)
Certifications:
BLS required
prior to first shift
ACLS required
(CIRH only)
Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized plans of care
Provide direct patient care using the nursing process; support rehabilitation and patient/family education
Ensure accurate, timely documentation and participate in interdisciplinary team conferences
Initiate discharge planning from admission through discharge
Communicate patient status changes to providers and leadership to ensure continuity and safety
Supervise and delegate to LPNs, CNAs, and orientees; may assume charge nurse duties after orientation
Safety & Compliance
Strong focus on patient and employee safety, including safe patient handling and workplace safety standards
Adheres to hospital policies, attendance standards, and professional appearance
Professional Practice
Supports team collaboration, cost-effective care, and continuous professional development
