Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift Job Summary
Nights, 3x12-hour shifts

Role Overview
Provides and coordinates high-quality patient care by implementing and following individualized nursing care plans
Supervises LPNs, CNAs, and orientees
Supports rehabilitation-focused care within an interdisciplinary team
Key Responsibilities
Complete nursing assessments within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized care plans
Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record
Participate in initial and weekly interdisciplinary team conferences
Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process with emphasis on patient and family education
Initiate discharge planning and patient education from admission
Communicate patient status changes to physicians, charge nurses, and care team members
Delegate and supervise ancillary staff; provide guidance and support
Promote patient and employee safety and adhere to hospital policies and procedures
Assume charge nurse duties after orientation, as needed
Safety & Professional Standards
Strong focus on patient and staff safety (safe handling, infection prevention, fall prevention, workplace safety)
Adheres to appearance, attendance, punctuality, and competency standards
Participates in ongoing professional development and continuing education
Requirements
Certifications:
BLS required; ACLS required (facility-specific)
Experience:
Minimum 2 years bedside clinical experience preferred
