Senior Scientist
to support our new mission in San Antonio, TX. The
Senior Scientist
role is to support the Medical Trauma Training Industry. What You’ll Do:
Oversee the design, development, implementation, execution and publication efforts pertaining to research projects related to education and training objectives of JTET lines of effort in TCCC training products, Joint Walking Blood Bank curriculum, austere surgical team training, prolonged casualty care curriculum, trauma medical director course, and other future courses. Oversee testing and evaluations used in JTET courses for quality assurance efforts including, but not limited to, student critiques and analysis of testing/psychometric data. The contractor will develop process improvement metrics linking the delivery of real-world trauma care to education and training products delivered by JTS and JTET. Mentor and coach rotating interns, residents, fellows, and staff in planning and executing research projects pertaining to the JTET lines of effort. Additionally, the contractor will prepare researchers for JTET affiliated projects to present at national and international conferences, and to prepare manuscripts for publication. The contractor will virtually participate in the regular meetings of the Defense Committees on Trauma (DCoT), and other relevant conferences and other events as directed by the JTET Branch Chief that support the mission of the JTET and JTS. Travel is not required. All work may be conducted remotely. What You Bring:
10+ yrs post-PhD experience in remotely leading research teams in military trauma training in classroom and field environments. Extensive experience in study design, statistical analysis, curriculum development, mentorship of post-graduate students or medical residents and fellows. Extensive experience in design and application of pedagogy & learning theory. Principle investigator or Co-PI on federally funded grants focused on trauma training efficiency, stress inoculation, or cognitive performance in medical personnel. Direct experience in developing and validating psychometric instruments. Extensive experience in publishing in peer-reviewed publications related to trauma or military medicine. What We Offer:
