The Analyst will receive direct supervision from the Manager of the Energy and Climate Unit, and general program direction from the Deputy Director of the Energy and Climate Unit. This position is responsible for providing analytical and administrative functions that support the work of the Energy and Climate Unit. This includes tracking key data on clean energy infrastructure projects, reviewing and analyzing sensitive materials and applicable rules/laws, keeping team members informed of pending legislation and relevant informational updates that could impact projects, and less complex administrative duties as assigned.

Working Conditions Hybrid: This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule and requires reporting in-person at headquarters in Sacramento twice a week. As a result of the Governor’s recent executive order, GO-Biz employees may be required to come into the office in Sacramento at least four times a week, projected to be effective July 1, 2025.

Department Information The Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz) serves as the State of California's leader for job growth and economic development efforts. GO-Biz offers a range of services to business owners including attraction, retention and expansion services, site selection, permit streamlining, clearing of regulatory hurdles, small business assistance, international trade development, assistance with state government, and much more.
The Energy & Climate Unit was created to accelerate the planning, financing, and execution of critical energy infrastructure projects that are necessary for the state to reach its climate, energy, and sustainability policy goals, including by identifying barriers, making recommendations, creating a working group, coordinating between the state’s climate and energy agencies, and cooperating with local, regional, federal, and California public and private businesses and investors.
