Responsibilities & Knowledge & Abilities Work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues in an environment that promotes innovation, teaching, learning, and service to a diverse student population. Work effectively with students with a wide range of skills, motivations, academic, and vocational goals. Develop curriculum, including curriculum delivered via different modalities. Participate in recruitment and articulation activities with local schools, colleges, and universities. Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Maintain subject matter currency. Assess student learning outcomes. Use computers and explore new technologies that would benefit the program. Demonstrate knowledge of and commitment to the California community college mission. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree AND 2 years of related professional experience; OR Associate’s degree AND 6 years of related professional experience AND BLS Instructor certification from the American Heart Association (proof of certification required). Professional experience is required if the applicant holds a master’s degree. The experience must be directly related to the teaching assignment. Equivalent qualifications may be considered. Candidates should submit an Application for Equivalence form with supporting documents. Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of diverse student backgrounds. Degrees must be from accredited institutions (Title V Section 53406). Foreign degrees must be evaluated by a NACES or ACEI service.
