MHW Search has partnered with a privately held real estate investment platform with a long-standing track record across multiple asset classes. The leadership team has collectively executed approximately $1.4 billion in real estate acquisitions and development nationwide. The platform focuses on the acquisition, leasing, and management of diversified property types, including office, industrial, retail, and healthcare assets. Backed by an experienced ownership group, the firm maintains access to multiple sources of capital and is structured to execute transactions efficiently and decisively across market cycles. For the right person, they will receive promote and a cash bonus of up to 75%.

The Director of Capital Formation will be responsible for leading private capital-raising initiatives and expanding the firm’s investor base. This role is primarily focused on relationship-driven business development and requires direct engagement with prospective investors.

The position offers a ground-floor leadership opportunity, working closely with senior leadership to help build and scale the firm’s investor relations and capital-raising efforts. The role is well suited for an entrepreneurial professional who is comfortable representing investment strategies, developing long-term LP relationships, and driving capital inflows.

Key Responsibilities

Lead private capital-raising initiatives with a primary focus on high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and select private investment groups

Build, manage, and expand a network of investor relationships to support ongoing and future capital raises

Identify and cultivate new investor relationships through direct outreach, referrals, and strategic networking

Conduct calls and in-person meetings with prospective investors to present investment opportunities

Collaborate with senior leadership on capital strategy, fundraising goals, and broader business initiatives

Clearly articulate the firm’s investment strategy, philosophy, and value proposition to current and prospective investors

Coordinate with internal teams to support ongoing investor communications, compliance requirements, and exit planning

Oversee the development of capital-raising and investor-facing materials, ensuring consistency across presentations, marketing content, and written communications

Support investor due diligence processes, including data room organization and information flow

Maintain and update investor information within internal CRM systems

Assist with additional initiatives as needed to support capital formation and investor relations efforts

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline

7–15 years of experience in capital formation, investor relations, fundraising, or business development within private markets

Demonstrated track record raising capital for private or unregistered investment products

Existing relationships with investors interested in private real estate or alternative investments

Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills (verbal and written)

Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently

Analytical and detail-oriented with strong follow-throughComfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

Willingness to travel for investor meetings, conferences, and relationship development

Preferred Experience

Background in investor relations or fundraising at a private real estate or alternative investment firm

Exposure to fund structures, private placements, or direct investment vehicles

Experience supporting investor documentation, reporting, and compliance-related processes

Familiarity with expectations of high-net-worth and family office investors
