Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, performing dental cleanings, and assisting in various dental procedures. This role requires a strong knowledge of dental terminology, infection control practices, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

Conduct thorough patient assessments and evaluations to determine oral health status.

Perform dental cleanings and scaling procedures using appropriate tools and techniques.

Administer local anesthesia as needed and monitor vital signs during procedures.

Provide chairside assistance during dental procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.

Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits.

Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Utilize EMR systems such as Dentrix for patient management and documentation review.

Implement aseptic techniques to ensure a safe and sterile environment.

Assist with pediatric dentistry, demonstrating patience and understanding with younger patients.

Stay current with advancements in dental technology and practices to enhance patient care.

Qualifications

Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.

Experience in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or dental assisting preferred.

Proficiency in using dental software such as Dentrix is highly desirable.

Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, infection control, and dental terminology.

Ability to perform medical imaging procedures when necessary.

Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and education.

Prior experience in a dental clinic or office setting is advantageous.

Familiarity with medical coding practices is a plus.
