Position Summary The Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP) provides prevention, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of speech, language, voice, fluency, and communication disorders for students. The SLP works collaboratively with teachers, administrators, parents, and special education staff to support students’ academic success and communication development in compliance with federal and state laws. This is a contract position requiring 20‑25 hrs per week during school hours 8‑3 pm.

Key Responsibilities Assessment & Evaluation

Conduct speech, language, and communication screenings and comprehensive evaluations

Interpret assessment results and prepare written evaluation reports

Determine eligibility for speech and language services in accordance with IDEA and state guidelines

IEP & Service Delivery

Develop measurable speech‑language goals and objectives for IEPs

Provide direct and indirect speech‑language therapy services (individual and small group)

Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed

Maintain accurate service logs and documentation

Participate in IEP meetings, staffing meetings, and multidisciplinary team discussions

Collaborate with teachers to support language development in the classroom

Consult with parents/guardians regarding student progress and strategies for carryover at home

Compliance & Documentation

Ensure compliance with IDEA, FERPA, and state special education regulations

Maintain timely and accurate records, reports, and Medicaid documentation (if applicable)

Adhere to school policies and professional ethical standards

Additional Duties

Support Response to Intervention (RTI/MTSS) as appropriate

Provide staff training or classroom strategies related to speech and language development

Perform other duties as assigned by school administration

Qualifications Required

Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology

Valid state licensure as a Speech‑Language Pathologist

ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP) or eligibility

Knowledge of IDEA and special education procedures

Preferred

Experience working in a K–12 school setting

Experience with IEP development and progress monitoring

Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills

Physical & Work Requirements

Ability to work with students in classroom and therapy settings

Ability to manage caseloads and meet documentation deadlines
