Position Summary
Under general supervision, RN Med‑Surg Tele nurses deliver care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Nurses collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure effective patient care and desired outcomes. They interact with patients, families, and significant others while maintaining professional standards. Nurses provide care for primarily adult patients before and after surgical procedures and for patients receiving pharmaceuticals to manage medical conditions. Nurses must be well‑versed in a variety of health conditions. Essential Functions
Knows and conforms to the Texas Nursing Practice Act and licensing rules and regulations and all federal, state, or local laws, rules, or regulations. Provides nursing services regardless of age, disability, economic status, gender, national origin, race, religion, or health factors of the patient. Responsible for total nursing care, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of each assigned patient. Plans, provides, evaluates, and documents nursing care, discharge planning, and teaching. Ensures the plan is carried out and provided in a safe environment, supervising subordinate personnel as required. Educates patients, families, or others to attain optimal health and continuity of care. Functions as charge nurse when required. Reports to and departs from work on time and as scheduled. Performs other duties as assigned. Maintains composure during stressful situations. Follows and adheres to TRMC vaccine policy(s) mandated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Work Experience
Two years of inpatient nursing experience preferred. Education
Registered Nurse currently licensed to practice in the State of Texas required. BLS (Basic Life Support) within 30 days of hire date required. Physical Demands and Work Environment
Lifting/carrying up to 100 lbs; repetitive arm and hand movements; standing and walking for extended periods; exposure to indoor/outdoor environments; navigation of machinery, electricity, sharps, and chemicals. Vision: depth perception required; peripheral vision required. Endurance: sit, stand, walk for extended periods. Environment: indoors 67-100% of time, outdoors ≤33% of time. Other Information
