Position Summary
Sr. Mobile Diesel Mechanic

Responsibilities
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
Conduct minor adjustments and repairs on trailer equipment, including aluminum and chem‑lite, brakes, air lines, auxiliary pumps and engines, liftgates, and brake chambers.
Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment such as electrical/brake/cooling systems, starters/alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines (gas and diesel), transmissions (manual and automatic), clutches, and differentials.
Diagnose, adjust, and repair trailer equipment and systems, including welding, fabrication, and replacement of panels and body framework.
Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment, including electrical/brake/cooling systems, starters/alternators, air conditioning systems, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines, transmissions, clutches, and differentials.
Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.
Road‑test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation.
Identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and determine accuracy and relevance of information.
Independently manage parts inventory and perform periodic reconciliation.
Maintain and operate the company‑issued service vehicle, conduct safety checks, and perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections.
Work with clients to assess needs, provide information or assistance, and satisfy expectations.
Manage concurrent assignments, prioritizing work activities and time allocations.
Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks.
Document work in accordance with company standards, upload pictures, parts used, and findings on Repair Orders (RO) via the proprietary TRAIT application.
Accurately complete DOT forms and other required documentation in a timely fashion.
Operate independently and manage personal daily schedule.
Maintain productivity within standard repair times.
Obtain parts from approved vendors as needed.
Communicate with management and support team via email or phone to obtain approvals on repair estimates, purchase order numbers, and discuss RO findings.
Perform all work in compliance with organizational safety, health and environmental policies, and federal regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
Qualifications
High‑school diploma or GED and at least 3 years of related experience. A different combination such as a higher degree or 5 years of experience is acceptable.
Minimum 3 years of experience working with refrigerated equipment.
Possess and supply the necessary hand tools to perform required duties.
OEM training and certifications are preferred.
Complete all company‑required training programs.
Commit to DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical, or provide a valid DOT medical card with more than four (4) months remaining until expiration.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Safe driver with a valid state driver’s license and ability to obtain and maintain a Driver Qualification File.
