Responsibilities
Lead and manage the Accounting Department; oversee staffing, training, and workflow
Manage month-end and year-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations
Oversee general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, billing, and collections
Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance across accounting functions
Oversee trust accounting (IOLTA), banking, cash application, and client reconciliations
Prepare and review financial reports, budgets, and key financial indicators
Partner with CFO and outside CPAs on tax filings, audits, and year-end reporting
Lead system enhancements, reporting tools, and software implementations
Support special projects and continuous process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
At least 7–10 years of accounting experience required, including 3+ years in a supervisory role
Law firm accounting experience required
Advanced Excel and strong systems aptitude
Experience with Aderant, ADP, SSRS, or financial dashboards a plus
