A growing restaurant group is seeking a Senior Accountant to support corporate accounting and financial reporting across multiple locations. This role is heavily focused on month‑end close, reconciliations, and ensuring accurate financial results in a fast‑paced, transaction‑heavy environment. The ideal candidate brings prior restaurant or hospitality accounting experience and understands the operational nuances that impact financial reporting in this industry.
Base Pay Range $85,000.00/yr - $95,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
Own key components of the month‑end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Prepare and review monthly financial statements, including P&L analysis and actual‑to‑expected reporting.
Produce weekly flash reports to provide interim financial visibility and cost of goods analysis.
Reconcile sales, cash, credit card, and POS activity to the general ledger.
Review labor, food, and operating expenses to ensure accurate coding, accruals, and margin reporting.
Support AP‑related close activities, including vendor reconciliations and expense accruals.
Assist with sales, use, and local commercial tax filings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Maintain balance sheet schedules, including prepaid expenses and fixed assets.
Partner with restaurant management to reinforce financial controls and operational best practices.
Support audit and tax preparation by compiling schedules and responding to requests.
Identify opportunities to improve close efficiency, reporting accuracy, and internal controls.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
4‑6+ years of accounting experience, with prior restaurant or hospitality accounting experience required.
Strong understanding of month‑end close in a multi‑location environment.
Experience reconciling POS systems, cash, and credit card activity.
Proficiency with accounting systems and Excel; experience with restaurant POS platforms a plus.
Detail‑oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a deadline‑driven environment.
Strong communication skills with the ability to partner cross‑functionally.
Salary range: $85,000.00/yr - $95,000.00/yr. Eligible for discretionary bonuses and participation in medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) benefits.
