CPI Security, located in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a full‑time Senior Systems Engineer to work from our corporate headquarters. The Senior Systems Engineer serves as the highest technical expert on the IT Operations Team, responsible for maintaining, implementing, and proactively monitoring the company’s key infrastructure to ensure continuous, secure business operations.

What You'll Do
Own the engineering, configuration, and support of critical IT infrastructure including on‑premise, virtualization, and cloud technologies.
Manage and maintain endpoint configuration standards.
Implement and improve monitoring, alerting, and logging for servers, endpoints, and network devices.
Maintain and enhance backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies, including testing and documentation.
Drive patch management and system hardening for servers and workstations, while monitoring for process improvement.
Collaborate with security, applications, and support teams to enforce best practices and align with compliance requirements (NIST, CIS, PCI).
Act as a technical escalation point for critical incidents and lead root‑cause analysis efforts.
Build and maintain automation scripts or workflows to improve operational efficiency.
Participate in infrastructure upgrade projects and roadmap planning with the IT Operations Manager.
Contribute to documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base development.
What We Are Looking For
10+ years of hands‑on experience in Systems Engineering and/or Infrastructure roles.
Experience working within a Critical Infrastructure industry.
Virtualization (VMware, Hyper‑V, Nutanix).
Cloud hyper‑scalers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Identity & Access Management (Entra, Okta).
Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP.
Mobile Device Management (Intune, JAMF).
Network fundamentals (firewalls, VLANs, SD‑WAN, VPNs).
Scripting & Automation (PowerShell, Bash).
