Job Description The Finance – Payroll Analyst position is responsible for all payroll related activities including multi‑state weekly processing for multiple locations, payroll related tax management and related audit support. This role also provides general accounting support including AP, AR, bank reconciliations, month‑end support including journal entry creation, entering, reconciliations in Traverse accounting software and overall support of financial functions for our Inficon Kansas location. Tasks performed will adhere to US and Swiss GAAP and are within the internal control guidelines of the organization. This role reports directly to the Finance Manager.

Essential Job Duties

Uses payroll software, inputs payroll data and prepares weekly payroll processing and any off‑cycle payroll processing

Generates payroll related journal entries, reconciles payroll related general ledger accounts and prepares reports/statements related to payroll

Ensures that mandatory and voluntary withholdings and deductions are accurately calculated and reported. Assists with related tax filings, reporting and audits

Assists employees and managers with questions about payroll policies and pay discrepancies

Maintains payroll related files and records

Utilizes Fidelity for various financial transactions including but not limited to, 401K funding, loans, and rate updates

Works closely with People Team (HR dept) to ensure accuracy and timeliness of all changes related to employee payroll, will also interface with third‑party payroll related vendors

Utilizes Traverse accounting software to complete all AP functions, including vendor creation, invoice entry and payment processing

Utilizes Traverse accounting software to enter AR invoicing and apply customer payments

Integral to the month‑end close process. Completes required journal entries, performs account reconciliations, analyzes results and financial reports in Traverse accounting software

Responsible for bank reconciliation, processing of payments and general cash flow management

Supports specific cross‑functional teams as assigned. Includes reporting and analysis of financial data as well as general guidance for the team

Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies

Assist in external audits by providing requested documentation and explanations

Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in financial operations

Provides various support to Finance department as needed

BS in Accounting or related field with 2+ years relevant payroll experience

Or Associates degree with 4+ years of payroll/accounting experience

Proficient in Microsoft Excel including but not limited to pivot tables and advanced formulas

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills

Ability to interface and work with various cross‑functional teams and work effectively across various levels of the organization

Proficient in payroll software systems such as Workday, UKG, Dayforce

Proficient in US GAAP and other accounting rules/principles

Proficiency in ERP software systems such as Oracle or SAP highly preferred

Proficiency and experience in manufacturing field highly preferred

Additional Information Expected salary range: $60k – $80k per year. Employees are eligible for a profit‑sharing bonus with a target of 10%.
