Location City of Hermantown & Carlton, Cook, and Lake Counties

Responsibilities Manages daily transit operations within their geographical area.

Recruits, selects, supervises and evaluates employees including disciplinary procedures

Negotiates revenue contracts

Monitors and manages county expense budgets including business evaluations

Trains new drivers in operating procedures Meets with businesses and community leaders to develop new routes

Schedules drivers and vehicles

Develops, maintains, and reviews route manifests

Completes federal and state reports

Performs grant writing

Organizes, schedules, and moderates city/county advisory committees

Promotes services through public relations/marketing and assists with the community needs assessment

Performs dispatch and driver duties

Monitors program for federal and state rules/regulation compliance

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or commensurate education and experience.

CDL with passenger endorsements. We train and test for Class B CDL for free.

Minimum 4 years supervisory experience.

Ability to regularly travel within large geographical area.

Computer literate.

Attributes Self-starter with organizational and management skills.

Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing.

Ability to work with the elderly, disabled, and economically disadvantaged.

Additional Information Transportation Manager I needed in Hermantown, MN to oversee Carlton, Hermantown, Lake, and Cook Counties. M-F. 40 hrs/wk. 7:00am-3:30pm.

Starting wage: $30.89/hr.
