We are looking for a detail‑oriented and analytical

General Ledger Accountant

to take ownership of our financial records. You will be the backbone of our accounting department, ensuring that every transaction is recorded accurately and in compliance with GAAP. You will play a critical role in shortening our month‑end close cycle and providing leadership with reliable data. Key Responsibilities

Journal Entries & Ledger Maintenance:

Prepare and post monthly journal entries (accruals, deferrals, reclassifications) and maintain a clean, organized General Ledger. Month‑End & Year‑End Close:

Manage the close calendar to ensure all financial deadlines are met. Balance Sheet Reconciliations:

Perform monthly reconciliations for all accounts, including bank accounts, inventory, prepaid expenses, credit cards, and accrued liabilities. Inventory:

Manage the full inventory lifecycle, including reconciling sub‑ledgers to the general ledger, reviewing COGS calculations, and accurately accounting for landed costs, shrinkage, and valuation adjustments (FIFO/Average Cost). Intercompany Accounting:

Reconcile intercompany balances and handle transfer pricing entries between entities. Financial Analysis:

Prepare variance analysis (Budget vs. Actual) and investigate discrepancies in the P&L. Tax & Compliance:

Assist with sales tax filings and provide documentation for annual income tax preparation and external audits. Industry Knowledge & Global Trade Expertise:

Deep knowledge of the trading industry (supply chain/procurement), international trade regulations, tariffs, and currency exchange impacts. Qualifications

Proficiency in general ledger management, financial reporting, and account reconciliation Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations Experience with accounting software and financial systems (Netsuite preferred) Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or related field Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is a plus A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in accounting, with familiarity in a global business environment preferred Seniority Level
