Job Summary Under the general direction of the Associate Controller this position acts with a high degree of independence and autonomy. This position serves as a liaison between the Finance department and its customers, analyzing and resolving issues in areas such as chart of accounts, accounts receivable, ledgers, and moveable equipment. The incumbent ensures proper recording of data in the financial system, creates reports using query tools, and participates in campuswide training efforts.

Minimum Qualifications
College degree in finance or accounting or equivalent experience.
Experience with and knowledge of accounting practices and terminology.
Experience with call tracking software.
Experience interpreting compliance and governance standards to ensure adherence to policy and procedures.
Demonstrated experience with querying tools and ad hoc reporting to create reports from large amounts of data and compile into a concise format.
Analytical skills to exercise independent judgment in problem solving, remain objective and represent differing points of view.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Oracle cloud based software or other ERP systems.
Experience with advanced Excel functions.
Thorough understanding of UC Davis finance policies and procedures.
Organizational skills to achieve timely progress on multiple simultaneous projects, distribute effort appropriately among the projects, meet tight deadlines, and maintain a high level of productivity.
Oral and written communication skills to develop materials and convey them to a diverse audience as well as tactfully deliver unfavorable responses to clients.
