Program Manager (Social Work) – Holocaust Survivor Program 2G Selfhelp Community Services

Position Summary:

Provides support and case management to children of Holocaust survivors.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct intakes, provide accurate information and referrals.

Screen and assess clients’ needs, including entitlements and benefits, emergency cash assistance; make referrals as appropriate.

Advocate on behalf of clients and arrange for provision of services; develop, implement and follow up on care plans.

Provide individualized supportive counseling and make referrals as needed.

Facilitate support groups for children of Holocaust survivors.

Perform outreach to Holocaust Survivor Programs and other organizations serving survivors in NYC to connect with children.

Maintain complete and accurate case notes utilizing the program’s data system; prepare required documentation within organizational timeframes.

Maintain and report on statistics according to Selfhelp standards, using the program’s data system and other record‑keeping tools.

Actively participate in supervision and staff meetings; share emergent issues with the supervisor in a timely manner.

Supervise social work students, if applicable.

Complete mandatory annual training on topics such as sexual harassment prevention, IT security awareness, compliance, OSHA, HIPAA, and other regulatory compliance.

Support the organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of the job, focusing on positive interpersonal relationships with co‑workers.

Adhere to the organization’s policies regarding absenteeism, appearance, and health and safety standards.

Essential Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Social Work with 2‑5 years’ experience working with older adults and traumatized populations (preferred).

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other technology.

Excellent communication and listening skills.

Excellent customer‑service skills with a focus on treating clients with respect and dignity.

Able to multi‑task and work independently with great attention to detail.

Familiarity with clinical supervision and educational settings (beneficial).

Salary Range:

$65,000 – $70,000, commensurate with experience, plus a $5,000 bonus after 1 year of employment.

Clinical Supervision:

Available for this position.

Working Conditions:

Business office environment with phone and computer use, occasional travel via public transportation; may work from home 2‑3 times per week.

Employment Details:

Full‑time, entry‑level; project management and information technology focus within a non‑profit organization.
