Units and Position Details:
Float Pool – experienced staff with a variety of skills who “float” to the units below as needed.
General Medical Unit – 37 bed cardiac/pulmonary unit; 10 bed clinical decision unit (CDU) with focus on chest pain.
Neurovascular/Ortho Unit – 30 bed unit, includes Orthopedic Rehabilitation Center for total joint replacement.
Oncology / Medical / Surgical – 37 bed unit, variety of patient types, including many surgeries.
Responsibilities:
Manage patient care delivery throughout length of stay, achieving quality outcomes and timely discharge using the nursing process.
Coordinate care with other professionals, delegate tasks within scope, and provide selective physical care as appropriate.
Document and communicate patient response, resource consumption, and anticipated needs during each tour of duty.
Perform clinical duties consistent with state regulations, institutional policies, and Michigan Public Health Code.
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s degree preferred, must be obtained within 8 years of hire.
Licensed Registered Nurse in good standing for the state of Michigan.
BLS certification required; critical care or ALS certification may be required for unit‑specific roles.
Ability to read, interpret, and analyze data from various computer systems.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Current driver’s license and proof of insurance (for BAH).
Shift and Hours:
Variable part‑time schedule. Scheduled weekly hours: 24.
