Overview Lead Donor Family Services at LAORA in Miami, optimizing organ referral, authorization, and family support processes while collaborating with clinical, operational, and development partners.
Key Responsibilities
Direct referral intake and onsite response, optimizing systems and workflows to ensure no donation opportunity is missed.
Collaborate with the quality department to improve death record review and authorization processes.
Identify lessons learned and areas for improvement with approach staff and leadership.
Coordinate with clinical managers and administrators on call to deploy resources effectively.
Build and maintain strong relationships with hospital partners to facilitate seamless donation opportunities.
Ensure referral monitoring includes clinical assessments, hospital care plans, and family communication status.
Update policies and procedures, and oversee staff training on donor referral, suitability evaluation, and donor designation.
Partner with IT staff to create electronic reports that monitor trends and inform improvement strategies.
Participate in national or regional workgroups to enhance authorization practices.
Support hospital services staff in various development initiatives.
Participate in the call schedule to ensure efficient operation of donation activities.
Establish and continuously assess internal controls and compliance with university policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Minimum 5 years of organ procurement experience.
CPTC certification preferred.
Strategic alignment and planning skills.
Financial and resource management expertise.
Adaptability and leadership of high‑performing teams.
Proficiency in technology, data analytics, and performance measurement.
Excellent communication and influencing abilities.
