Telemetry Technician – Delnor Cardiac/Telemetry Unit (Full Time Nights)
Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. with every other weekend (Friday and Saturday nights) and rotating holidays required.
The Telemetry Technician reflects NM’s mission, vision, and values, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory and accreditation standards. The role involves performing telemetry monitoring to provide data for diagnosis and treatment of heart conditions.
Responsibilities
Attach electrode lead lines to proper body areas based on type of test ordered.
Prepare skin and surroundings to ensure valid results.
Obtain and document ECG readings as directed.
Perform continual surveillance of multiple monitors.
Identify significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervene appropriately.
Identify and correct for artifacts.
Edit and forward results to attending physician for analysis and interpretation.
Maintain ECG equipment and supplies.
Qualifications (Required)
High school diploma.
Successful completion of ECG interpretation coursework.
CPR – Basic Life Support.
