Overview
Technicians are needed to help pull cable and terminate keystone-style jacks on a large construction site.
Responsibilities
Pull, terminate, and test Cat5/6 and fiber optic cables.
Install cabling infrastructure such as racks, cabinets, and network equipment in server rooms.
Review all job documentation for assigned projects, including floor plans, equipment locations, reflected ceiling plans, conduit call‑outs, wall elevations, signal flow diagrams, and cable pull schedules.
Perform work that requires frequent standing, climbing, walking, pushing, pulling, squatting, crawling, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Use power tools to complete tasks effectively.
Qualifications
Experience with cabling and structured cabling systems.
Proficiency in reading blueprints.
Basic hand tools and hardware knowledge (e.g., punchdown, wire strippers, impact tool).
Ability to work in a construction environment and to use PPE, including hard hat, safety glasses, steel‑toed shoes, and vest.
Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
Experience Level Intermediate Level
Job Type & Location Contract to hire position based out of Austin, TX.
Pay and Benefits Hourly pay range: $24.00 – $27.00.
