Responsibilities
Prepare and administer oral medications safely and document regularly prescribed drugs.
Administer oral PRN drugs when authorized by a licensed nurse.
Injectable medications must always be given by a licensed nurse.
Telephone or verbal orders may never be accepted by a QMA.
Take and record appropriate vital signs before administering certain medications.
Qualifications
Certified Qualified Medication Aide in the State of Indiana.
State‑approved training program in medication administration completed.
Current health certificate/examination as required by state agencies.
Perform only duties taught in the approved training program.
