Position Overview:

Advance Industrial Mechanical (AIM) is seeking a dedicated and skilled HVAC Technician to join our growing team. This position focuses on the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial HVAC systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in troubleshooting large commercial systems (up to 50 tons), advanced controls, and refrigeration cycles, as well as the ability to mentor and guide junior level technicians. Troubleshoot and repair large commercial HVAC systems (up to 400 tons), including chillers, VRF, and water‑cooled systems Maintain and repair screw chillers and cooling towers Troubleshoot ERVs and VRF systems Replace blower shafts and bearings Evaluate and improve airflow and ductwork systems Service low‑temperature refrigeration systems Diagnose and repair pumps, chillers, and water‑cooled components Perform pump alignment and replacements Provide training and mentorship to Level 1‑3 Technicians Performance Expectations

Maintain 85%+ efficiency on service calls Deliver high‑quality, safe, and timely work Follow company policies, procedures, and industry standards Communicate effectively with customers on technical issues and solutions Environmental & Physical Conditions

3+ years of experience in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of large commercial/industrial HVAC systems including large compressors, motors, economizers, VAV systems, and system design fundamentals EPA Universal Certification (required) Proficient in HVAC pipe sizing, routing, installation, and troubleshooting best practices Skilled at reading and interpreting complex schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals Strong problem‑solving, critical thinking, and communication skills with both customers and team members Ability to work independently, manage service calls, and ensure code compliance Experienced in mentoring and training junior technicians (Level 1 & Level 2) Physically capable of lifting up to 80 lbs, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; able to operate a company vehicle Willingness and ability to travel for assignments, occasionally for up to one week at a time Ability to pass fit‑for‑duty evaluations, pre‑hire drug screening, and ongoing random screenings per company policy Qualifications

NATE Certification (preferred) OEM equipment training and start‑up certifications (Aaon, Intellipak, VRF systems preferred) Knowledge of BAS (Building Automation Systems), HVAC system controls, and automation Experience with cooling tower maintenance/installation and water piping systems Understanding of local building codes and compliance requirements Salary Description:
