Program Coordinator I / Branch Supervisor II - 183667
Join the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles as a Branch Supervisor in Pickens, SC. You will oversee daily operations, manage staff, and ensure excellent customer service.
Job Responsibilities
Act as manager in the absence of the Branch Manager, directing day‑to‑day operations.
Perform audits of offices and associated entities within the agency’s enforcement areas.
Hold office meetings and conduct training to advise staff on new and existing policies.
Oversee the knowledge and skills testing program and examiner utilization.
Register applicants for motor voter and/or selective service, if required.
Reconcile daily activity reports, approve refund requests, and secure audited documents.
Assist with bank deposit preparation and protect building security.
Administer knowledge tests for all driver classes, including CDL, and respond to public inquiries.
Maintain office supply inventory and prepare requisitions.
Supervise personnel matters such as hiring, performance appraisals, disciplinary actions, and human‑resource requirements.
Train office personnel on DMV transactions and procedures.
Perform other duties as required by supervisor.
Minimum Requirements
A high school diploma or equivalent. Relevant program experience may be considered with prior approval.
Additional Requirements
Knowledge of DMV principles, policies, and procedures.
Valid South Carolina driver’s license with a good driving record.
Computer skills for daily job functions.
Effective communication, multi‑tasking, fee collection, and employee training abilities.
Certified to administer CDL knowledge and skills tests, including completion of a formal CDL Examiner Trainer Course.
Direct report to the Branch Manager and routine supervisory duties.
Decision‑making oriented toward agency best interests and customer service.
Adaptability to climate‑controlled office environments and road‑test exposure.
Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs, reach, stand, sit, and climb.
Exempt position; may require working outside normal hours.
Preferred Qualifications
Six years of responsible clerical, secretarial, or administrative experience.
