Compensation USD $118,060.00 – $148,448.00
Overview The Executive Director Business Operations is responsible for the strategic planning, coordination and direction of physician service strategic business units across two hospitals and fourteen practices. This role partners with Sentara’s Medical Specialties divisions—including Pulmonary Clinical Care, Infectious Disease, and Neurology—to lead over 160 providers and 80 staff members.
Responsibilities
Oversee all business operations of all responsibility areas and activities related to future growth of the Neurology, PCCM, and ID divisions.
Maximize value and growth through strategy execution that drives efficiency, quality, patient experience, and health outcomes, aligned with Health System and Health Plan needs.
Develop operational strategies to address productivity, operational performance, staff retention, and patient satisfaction.
Ensure appropriate prioritization and resource management to fulfill strategic objectives specific to specialty and market needs.
Define, plan, develop, implement, and oversee programs and systems to guide and attain the goals of the Ambulatory Services Division and Sentara Healthcare.
Exhibit strong communication, presentation, and listening skills to ensure facility‑wide collaboration and coordination, especially with physicians, employees, and the community.
Maintain positive employee relations and trust through communication, education, consistency, and dependability.
Establish trust and lead key initiatives and strategies to continually improve the quality and level of services provided.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree

Master’s Degree
(Preferred)
Eight years of Business Unit Director experience
