Open Rank Faculty – Trauma and Acute Care Surgery
Position at Augusta University. Full‑time faculty rank: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. Board‑certified or –eligible in General Surgery with additional fellowship training in Trauma and/or Surgical Critical Care. A non‑tenured position.
Job Summary Join a team of eight surgeons to develop clinical practice, increase clinic visits and surgical volumes, participate in call schedule and teach residents.
Responsibilities
Develop clinical practice in Trauma/Surgical Critical Care and Acute Care Surgery.
Increase clinic visits and surgical volumes for Trauma/Surgical Critical Care and Acute Care Surgery.
Participate in call schedule with the Divisions of Trauma/Surgical Critical Care and Acute Care Surgery.
Teach and educate general surgery residents about Trauma/Surgical Critical Care and Acute Care Surgery.
Required Qualifications
MD/DO degree, board eligible in general surgery and Trauma and Acute Care Surgery by the American Board of Surgery, with additional fellowship training.
5 years of general surgery residency and an additional year of Trauma/Surgical Critical Care and Acute Care Surgery fellowship.
Faculty rank: Assistant Professor (early career), Associate Professor (mid level, at least 5 years as Assistant Professor), Professor (senior level, at least 5 years as Associate Professor).
Consistent with SACSCOC accreditation requirements; evidence of teaching, scholarly activity, and personal qualities judged by interview and recommendations.
Shift/Salary/Benefits Fiscal year based, full‑time (FTE 1.0). Salary and compensation commensurate with education, experience, and achievements and subject to availability of funds. Rank and salary determined at hire with consideration of internal equity and market data.
