Responsibilities

Provide best‑in‑class guest service: greet guests promptly, answer questions quickly and courteously, and assist guests with their gaming needs.

Promote visible merchandising, current sales initiatives and guest relationships that drive sales and repeat business.

Process purchases and returns accurately using the Point‑of‑Sale (POS) system.

Handle phone inquiries, service calls and, when appropriate, escalated issues to the Store Manager.

Promote GameStop’s guest benefits including the new title reservation program, trade‑in program, and Pro Rewards loyalty program.

Support the Store Manager in setting guest‑service expectations and training associates.

Observe associate performance and provide timely feedback to the Store Manager.

Maintain onboarding, job training, and compliance training for all associates before shifts.

Plan and supervise staffing levels to achieve optimum guest service.

Approve payroll, enter paid time off, schedule, and verify associate pay for all time worked.

Ensure store areas, restrooms, fixtures and equipment are clean, organized and functional.

Fulfill omni‑channel orders daily.

Monitor and protect company assets through inventory control, loss prevention, and bank deposits.

Support the team in meeting and exceeding sales, profit, and shrink goals.

Perform store inventory counts, stock and reorganize merchandise.

Reconcile daily business transaction totals, prepare bank deposits and handle cash closures.

Validate shipments, manage merchandise returns and document discrepancies.

Maintain associate and guest safety, reporting injuries as required.

Keep store records and manuals current and organized.

Delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders when the Store Manager is absent.

Consistently adhere to GameStop policies, procedures and the Associate Handbook.

Follow all opening and closing procedures.

Qualifications

Proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.

Minimum age 18 years.

High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree (preferably in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field).

Preferred: at least 6 months retail management experience.

Preferred: at least 2 years retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience.

Preferred: video‑game knowledge.

Problem‑solving and stress management.

Reliability and trustworthiness; use good judgment.

Physical ability: stand, move, climb ladders, lift up to 30 lbs., perform other basic fine and gross motor tasks.

Understand military ranks and insignia (for military‑base locations).
