About The Facility This work unit exists to provide specialized medical and surgical support services to the populations of CMHIP, Department of Corrections, Division of Youth Services, and other designated public agencies. These services are provided seven days per week and twenty-four hours per day to provide diagnosis and treatment to acute and chronically ill members of the affected population. This position is a .22 FTE and on-call rotation as assigned by the department director or designee.
Description Of Job About the Position This position is part time .22 FTE on-call rotation as assigned by the department director or designee. You are required to work at your assigned work location during your scheduled work times. Approximately 8 hours per week. Work arrangements are subject to change at any time.
Responsibilities Cardiopulmonary
Administer modalities of Respiratory Care and EEGs, as assigned to Acute and Chronically ill patients in compliance with the Physician's prescription
Assess and records the patient's therapy as to appropriateness of therapy
Available for twenty-four-hour response when on call and available for shift work when needed
Exchange and relate to patients and staff appropriate information gathered from seminars, journals, the internet, and other resources to provide and aid in understanding the purpose of treatment and the related outcomes
Interrelate with nursing and other staff members to coordinate the overall continuum of care, and increase their awareness of the purpose and importance of Respiratory Care modalities, EEGs, and Pulmonary Functions, Apnea Link Testing, ONPO, PAP Therapy, and the results of all therapy and test results
Equipment
Recommend services based on Medical Staff input, needs of the customer, cost justification, and clinical knowledge of Departmental staff
Recommend new equipment, service providers and alternatives to Medical Staff
Recommend new services to Department Director
Emergency Response
Responds while on duty or on-call to all cardiopulmonary arrests, and initiates and maintains ventilatory support as long as assistance is required
Other Duties as Assigned
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Associate's degree from an accredited institution in Respiratory Therapy
Must be an RRT or CRT, Licensed in the State of Colorado
Substitution
Additional appropriate experience will substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of mental illness
At least two (2) years of professional experience in clinical Respiratory care
Must be able to be on site within 20 minutes of a notification
Conditions of Employment

On call eligible
May be exposed to hazardous materials - Exposure to infectious diseases, sharps injuries, and potential exposure to hazardous chemicals or drugs
Must successfully pass a TB (tuberculosis) Test.
