role. This position is a full‑time, first‑shift position within the Medical Oncology department.
Job Description The registered professional nurse is responsible for carrying out the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, evaluation, documentation and time management. The RN is accountable for quality communication, teamwork, leadership and professionalism. The RN directs, coordinates and implements patient teaching, quality/safety initiatives and other health team activities while maintaining professional nursing standards.

Pay Grade 135
Education
Associates Nursing (RN Diploma, ASN or ADN) is required.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
Experience Minimum of 1872 full‑time or part‑time RN hours (936 if holding BSN) and completion of a performance evaluation.
Certification & Licensures
RN License is required; must be licensed or eligible under the Virginia Board of Nursing regulations.
BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) required prior to orientation.
Relevant specialty certification is preferred.
Qualifications
Meets all RN I requirements.
Competent to provide care across cognitive, physical, emotional, and developmental stages.
Competent to provide care using the nursing process.
Reliable phone communication with the hospital.
