Job Summary Full‑time Medical Assistant – Allergy at our Shelton office. The role involves performing medical, clinical, and clerical tasks in an allergy setting. Previous healthcare and allergy experience is required.

Schedule Full time, 30+ hours. Monday–Friday with rotating Saturdays (7 am‑7 pm). Availability to cover in a team environment is needed.

Pay Hourly: $19‑$24.

Job Responsibilities

Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere to enhance patient care.

Maintain thorough knowledge of standard operating protocols specific to the allergy practice.

Apply allergy treatment knowledge for patient care including pre‑ and post‑care instructions.

Adapt to provider workflows and support provider efficiency—scribe, manage records, assist communication.

Check and maintain allergy testing equipment and clean treatment rooms.

Perform inventory duties for allergy supplies.

Complete required training and ongoing education focused on allergy care.

Assist physician with allergy procedures (skin prick, patch tests, spirometry, immunotherapy injections).

Help record prescribed treatments, medication orders, lab requisitions, biopsies, cultures, photos, prescriptions, prior authorizations, consents.

Process payments, book follow‑ups, track inventory used during visits.

Learn and use new workflows including Klara paperwork, patient notifications, and messaging.

Clean office and remove waste.

Cover front desk or greeter role when needed.

Apply HIPAA and OSHA compliance.

Perform additional tasks as directed by supervisor.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years as a Medical Assistant; allergy practice experience preferred.

Medical Assistant certification.

CPR and AED certifications.

Experience with EMR and scheduling systems preferred.

Experience with allergy testing (skin prick, patch, spirometry) preferred.

Computer savvy, familiar with Outlook.

Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational skills.

Excellent patient relations and customer service skills.

Strong follow‑up sense, ownership, accountability.

Professional, reliable, dedicated employee.

Open availability during office hours.

HIPAA and OSHA compliance knowledge.
