Pharmacy Technician / Pharm Tech Apprenticeship

The program offers an 18-21.5 $/hour range and is designed to transform pharmacy technicians from a transactional mindset to a patient‑centric service approach. The apprenticeship trains you to become a Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certified pharmacy technician while you gain the skills and tools needed to advance within Walgreens. Responsibilities

Assist the pharmacist under supervision to conduct pharmacy practice, including using systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions and check for interactions. Support cash register operations, handle cash accurately, and assist customers in locating OTC products. Engage customers and patients by greeting, offering assistance, resolving issues, and delivering a distinctive customer experience. Perform pharmacy inventories, record claims, manage stock, and maintain pharmacy organization and cleanliness. Participate in clinical services such as collecting and labeling blood/urine samples, assisting with pharmacy‑based clinical programs, and coordinating with medical providers. Report prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist and comply with all company and regulatory policies. Assist in training and mentoring other pharmacy technicians and support staff. Customer Experience

Greet customers, answer questions, and proactively identify needs to ensure a positive experience. Model Walgreens service traits such as courtesy, eye contact, and proactive assistance. Develop strong relationships with high‑value customers. Operations

Under pharmacist supervision, perform duties in accordance with state, federal, and company policies, and review the Walgreens Pharmacy Code of Conduct. Enter patient and drug information into pharmacy systems, accurately fill prescriptions, and assist with scheduling and workflow. Adhere to Good Faith Dispensing policies during all prescription dispensing activities. Assist with inventory management, filing claims for overages or shortages, and maintain asset‑protection knowledge. Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized pharmacy department. Complete special assignments and clerical tasks as directed. Training & Personal Development

Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program or state‑required registration. Attend training, acquire continuing education credits, and stay updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments. Basic Qualifications

Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico). Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in a retail environment (minimum six months). Previous work experience with Walgreens. Strong math skills for accurate prescription filling. Computer skills.
