Pharmacy Customer Service Associate

Based on skills and experience, base pay range is $16.00/hr - $18.00/hr.
Responsibilities
Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
Register sales on assigned cash register, providing courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
Assist pharmacist, under direct supervision, in pharmacy practice; use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
Engage customers and patients by greeting them, offering assistance with products and services, resolving issues, and answering questions to ensure a positive experience.
Model and share customer service best practices with all team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
Recommend items for sale and trade‑up/companion items.
Process returns, voids, rain checks, refunds, exchanges, and take customers to OTC aisle when possible.
Maintain clean counters, shelves, inventory records, and merchandise merchandising.
Assist in scheduling, workflow, and quality improvement programs; report prescription errors promptly.
Handle telephone calls that do not require pharmacist’s personal attention, including physician calls.
Process manual claims for third‑party prescription services.
Support pharmacy inventory management, oversee shipments, and file claims for overages, shortages, or damaged goods.
Ensure compliance with state/local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcoholic beverages, tobacco).
Create displays, including seasonal, promotional, and sale merchandise.
Assist in separating food items and perform stock rotation using FIFO method.
Operate store equipment and systems.
Provide customer service in the media/photo area, including photo services and creative machines.
Perform web pick‑up responsibilities and maintain store appearance.
Comply with all company policies and maintain respectful coworker relationships.
Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
Training & Personal Development
Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program or state requirement.
Attend training, complete PPLs, and acquire continuing education credits; maintain knowledge of latest healthcare developments.
Basic Qualifications
Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
Six months of experience in a retail environment.
Prior work experience with Walgreens.
Strong math skills for accurate prescription counting, measuring, and weighing.
Good computer skills.
Knowledge of store inventory control.
PTCB certification.
