Base Pay Range $48.00/hr – $51.00/hr

Location C – Franklin County Crisis Care Center – Columbus, OH

Shift Details As Needed – 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Job Summary The Charge Nurse oversees medical, psychiatric, substance abuse, and nursing care of individuals served. The Charge Nurse also leads unit staff in clinical matters, including Registered Nurses, Behavioral Health Technicians, Peer Support Specialists, and Milieu Specialists.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Guest Care & Advocacy – Ensures completion of assessments, develops recovery plans, supervises diet requirements.

Team Leadership – Supervises nursing services for shift, assigns patient assignments, provides nursing treatment and monitoring.

Compliance & Risk Management – Ensures care meets licensing regulations and accreditation standards, administers medication, responds to medical emergencies, completes clinical documentation, stays current with regulations and company policies.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration – Coordinates with external medical and nursing support services.

Additional Duties – Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education – Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing, Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.

Licensure & Credentials – Valid and current state‑specific RN license (Compact licensure preferred).

Experience – Minimum of one (1) year in behavioral health setting.

Skills – Basic computer skills, attention to detail, problem solving, verbal and written communication, listening, documentation, de‑escalation training, ability to pass background checks and driving policy if required.

Physical Demands May include lifting up to 20 lbs, frequent sitting, standing, walking, handling, finger dexterity, eye‑hand‑foot coordination.

Work Environment Behavioral health facility; may work in office environment; contact with agitated or confused individuals; travel required.
