Position Summary The Cardiovascular Center of Excellence in the School of Medicine at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, LA is seeking candidates for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. Candidates should have an active extramurally-funded grant, a desire to participate in collaborative research projects related to cardiovascular research, and teaching ability. Exceptional unfunded applicants will also be considered. Expertise in all areas of cardiovascular research is valued, but special consideration will be given to those that complement the existing collaborative research strengths of the Center, which include Heart Failure, Hypertension, and Autonomic Regulation.

Responsibilities Anticipated duties and responsibilities will include:

Sustaining an exceptional research program.

Mentoring graduate students and post-doctoral fellows.

Participating in the broad health sciences teaching activities of the Center.

Qualifications Education: PhD or MD in a basic science, health science, or related field.

Experience: Relevant research experience in cardiovascular biology, ability to secure or develop extramural funding, demonstrated teaching ability.

Preferred: Extramural grant, expertise that complements the Center’s strengths in Heart Failure, Hypertension, or Autonomic Regulation.
