Working with minimal supervision, the Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in all facets of store operations and develops a sales culture through outstanding guest service experiences.
Responsibilities
Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests promptly, answer questions quickly and courteously, and recommend additional items as appropriate.
Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
Process guest purchases/return transactions accurately using the POS computer system.
Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone and elevate issues to the Store Manager as needed.
Promote GameStop’s unique guest benefits, such as title reservations, trade‑in, and Pro Rewards loyalty programs.
Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations for store associates, training associates, and monitoring performance.
Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per company guidelines, ensuring all fixtures and equipment are in proper working order.
Support store team in meeting and exceeding sales, profit, and shrink goals and completing required administrative and operational duties.
Supervise Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager.
Qualifications
Proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.
At least 18 years old.
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or accredited bachelor’s degree with a preference for business, marketing, merchandising, or related field.
At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.
At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
Video game knowledge preferred.

Strong customer service orientation and ability to work independently and within a team.
Basic mathematics and effective use of the POS computer system.
Flexible schedule, including extended hours, nights, weekends, and some holidays.
Benefits Full‑time store positions are eligible for incentive programs, 401(k), paid time off, dental, vision, and health insurance. Positions may also be eligible for a bonus and/or other incentives.
Compensation $17.75 - $21.75 per hour
