Medical Coding Adjunct Instructor (ADJT26)
This position is located at State of South Carolina, Aiken Technical College. The instructor will teach medical coding courses using a combination of hands‑on and theoretical methods. Class schedules will vary from semester to semester and may include daytime, evening, weekend, or online sessions. Faculty may also be asked to work a split schedule (morning and evening classes) and to teach dual‑enrollment courses in assigned high schools.
Responsibilities
Instruction of hands‑on and theory, classroom management, and related administrative tasks including reports.
Preparation and maintenance of current course syllabi.
Ensuring that courses are taught in accordance with the established syllabi.
Recommendation for approval of adequate instructional materials and laboratory facilities/equipment for assigned courses.
Supervision of students.
Minimum and Additional Requirements Bachelor’s degree in a related field required. Current certification in RHIA or RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, or an equivalent AHIMA or AAOC coding credential with three (3) years of experience required.
