Wood Fabrication Specialist / CNC Wood Router Programmer & Operator / Wood Wizard
Fast‑paced custom manufacturing company located in New Castle, DE is seeking a well‑rounded Wood Wizard / Craftsman to join our team. Candidate will be responsible for the scenic fabrication of set pieces, signs, custom stage platforms, stairs, flats, podiums, furniture and additional specialty items. Full‑time position with comprehensive benefits package.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Program & operate Laguna CNC Router using VCarve software
Work with additional equipment to include routers, sanders, saws, drills, etc.
Read and interpret plans, sketches and shop drawings
Work with designers and management to achieve customers’ satisfaction
Maintain a high level of production while maintaining quality
Respond to quick turn‑around orders
Perform well in a fast‑paced and team‑oriented environment
Determine type and dimensions of wood stock to be used
Nest to minimize waste or raw stock
Maintain & clean equipment and work areas
Perform related duties as assigned
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:
MUST BE ABLE TO READ A TAPE MEASURE ACCURATELY
2 years of VCarve programming experience
Trade school graduate or equivalent
Team player with positive attitude
Knowledge of plastics & Plexiglas, AutoCad and SolidWorks a plus
Experience with laminates, tongue & groove and veneers desired
Knowledge of shop practices and skill in using shop tools and equipment
Ability to read blueprints and translate into fabricated products
Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform related duties and responsibilities of this job including team lifting up to 75 lbs.
