The Account Executive role focuses on driving sales and expanding the reach of Bio‑Techne’s Spatial Biology product line, providing cutting‑edge solutions for visualizing, characterizing, and quantifying tissue transcriptomic profiles in single‑cell biology, neuroscience, oncology, infectious disease, and gene therapy. This remote position covers the Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky territories.
Pay Range $83,400.00 – $137,100.00
Job Purpose The Account Executive will expand the Bio‑Techne Spatial Biology portfolio by engaging academic institutions and driving adoption of advanced technologies.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute strategic territory and account‑specific sales plans, achieving quarterly and annual revenue goals.
Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities within universities, research institutes, and academic medical centers.
Grow consumables pull‑through by driving customer engagement, repeat ordering, and workflow expansion.
Deliver technical and scientific presentations on Spatial Biology Division products.
Consult regularly with customers on Advanced Cell Diagnostics product portfolio applications.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers at various organizational levels to understand priorities and purchasing cycles.
Demonstrate deep technical understanding of Spatial Biology to drive collaborative sales processes.
Accurately forecast sales and maintain CRM records.
Represent new technology and the ACD brand effectively in the marketplace.
Partner cross‑functionally to address diverse customer needs.
Actively support team goals and contribute to company success.
Perform other related duties as assigned to support business needs, team initiatives, and organizational priorities.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology or a related life science field.
Advanced degree (MS, PhD) or equivalent industry experience preferred.
Skills
Strong attention to detail, efficient, and an effective team player.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated consultative selling skills with the ability to match solutions to customer needs.
Knowledge of RNA sequencing, transcriptomics, and molecular biology fundamentals.
Goal‑oriented, competitive, and persistent with a focus on new customer recruitment.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex accounts and competing priorities.
Proficiency with CRM platforms and basic data analysis for forecasting and territory planning.
Ability to work independently, think strategically, and execute tactically within a dynamic environment.
Experience
Minimum of 1 year of field‑based life science sales experience.
Experience selling into academic research environments preferred.
Working Conditions
Primarily field‑based with regular travel up to 60% within the assigned territory.
Regular travel to academic institutions, conferences, on‑site demos, and internal team meetings.
May require occasional evening or weekend work aligned with scientific events or customer availability.
Physical Requirements
Ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
Capability to transport and set up demonstration equipment.
Extended periods of standing or walking during conferences, tradeshows, and customer visits.
Prolonged periods of computer use for CRM management, reporting, and virtual customer interactions.
