Job Summary:
The State Sales Manager is responsible for managing sales and distributor relationships within an assigned State. This role focuses on driving revenue growth, increasing brand presence, and maintaining strong distributor partnerships. The State Sales Manager will work closely with the Regional Sales Manager to ensure alignment with company objectives.
Reporting Structure:
Reports to: Regional Sales Manager
Collaborative Partners: Regional Sales Manager, VP of Sales, National Director of Distribution
Core Responsibilities State Management
Oversee sales within the assigned State, ensuring strong brand presence and market penetration.
Develop and maintain relationships with distributors and key accounts.
Conduct regular market visits to assess store performance, product placement, and promotional activities.
Achieve State sales targets through proactive distributor management and account development.
Collaborate with the Regional Sales Manager to execute state sales strategies.
Identify new sales opportunities and support distributor onboarding as needed.
Reporting & Analytics
Monitor and report on sales performance, including volume, revenue, and market share.
Maintain accurate records of distributor activities, account performance, and competitive insights.
Provide regular reports to the Regional Sales Manager and contribute to strategic planning.
Compliance & Customer Support
Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and brand guidelines.
Address customer and distributor concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
Minimum of 3 years of sales experience in the beverage industry.
Proven track record of achieving sales targets in a competitive market.
Strong understanding of distributor management and route-to-market strategies.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Proficiency in sales analytics and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, CRM systems).
Preferred Skills
Experience in the THC, cannabis, or alcohol beverage industry.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships.
Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive decision-making.
Experience in training and developing sales representatives.
Collaboration and Partnerships
Collaborate with the Regional Sales Manager, VP of Sales, and National Director of Distribution.
Align with Legal to ensure adherence to all regulatory standards.
Partner with external distributors and key accounts to enhance market penetration.
