TEKsystems is seeking multiple qualified candidates to support its client’s Datacenter Technician team. This is a fully onsite position in Mount Pleasant, WI, offering contract‑to‑hire status and an opportunity to grow within the organization.

Shift Details

A Side Days: Sunday–Tuesday & every other Wednesday, 6 AM–6 PM

A Side Nights: Sunday–Tuesday & every other Wednesday, 6 PM–6 AM

B Side Days: Thursday–Saturday & every other Wednesday, 6 AM–6 PM

B Side Nights: Thursday–Saturday & every other Wednesday, 6 PM–6 AM

Job Description

Prepares, stages, sets up, starts up, and shuts down rack equipment, hard drives, and switches per instructions and checklists.

Performs post‑execution quality checks: grounding, staging, labeling, cabling; verifies safety protocols and deployment standards.

Diagnoses and troubleshoots issues using standard procedures; identifies root causes and replaces faulty components.

Delegates IT hardware decommission for simple changes and refreshes (e.g. memory upgrades, OS rebuilds).

Communicates, reports, and escalates incidents to Datacenter Technician Leads.

Additional Responsibilities

Move, inspect, install, and cable servers and switches per wire maps.

Bundle cables neatly, coordinate with network admins to confirm all connections.

Install extra components (NIC, drive, memory).

Unbox and prep servers; audit consumables.

Troubleshoot server issues; order and install replacement parts.

Update firmware and configure IP addresses and login credentials.

Assist network admins with cable re‑routing, optic replacement, and component upgrades.

Temporarily rack and stack servers or switches for remote configuration.

Deploy and configure GPUs in servers, ensuring proper installation.

Qualifications

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components.

Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).

Flexibility to work non‑standard hours, including weekends and holidays.

Previous datacenter experience is a plus.

CompTIA certifications desirable.
