Augusta University, Faculty at the Medical College of Georgia’s Department of Emergency Medicine.

Job Summary Seeking a faculty member, rank of Instructor – Limited Term. The faculty member will participate in a non‑ACGME Emergency Ultrasound fellowship while providing instruction, oversight, and academic progress for Emergency Medicine residents, Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellows, and medical students. Responsibilities include patient care, teaching, and fellowship requirements.

Responsibilities

Provide 9 nine‑hour shifts in the Emergency Department each month.

Take 1–2 call shifts per month.

Complete 900 ultrasound examinations during the fellowship.

Embark on a minimum of two research projects, one independently designed and completed within the fellowship timeframe.

Present at least one abstract at a national meeting if accepted.

Provide at least six hours of resident or student teaching each month.

Attend an average of two scanning shifts and two tape review/quality assurance meetings per month.

Complete timely and formal evaluations as required.

Required Qualifications

MD/DO or equivalent; completed Emergency Medicine residency or Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellowship.

Consistent with Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) accreditation requirements.

Evidence of teaching ability.

Evidence of scholarly activity and ability in all assigned duties.

Successful past experience, waived for those just entering academia who meet other requirements.

Salary & Benefits Fiscal year based, full‑time (1.0 FTE). Salary commensurate with education, experience, and achievements; subject to funds availability.
