Position Overview We are seeking a 1st shift Inventory Control Specialist to support our production team. The ideal candidate will bring a solid background in manufacturing, strong analytical and organizational skills, and a desire to contribute to a quality‑driven, fast‑paced environment.
Essential Job Functions
Maintain inventory accuracy through internal audits, cycle counts, and physical inventories of raw materials, components, hardware, and finished goods.
Update and reconcile ERP system (JobBOSS) records for all incoming and outgoing materials; investigate and correct discrepancies as needed.
Pick and issue raw materials, hardware, and components for production jobs in accordance with job travelers and system requirements.
Review closed job reports for accuracy in quantities produced, scrapped, and issued versus job documentation.
Prepare and distribute regular inventory control and variance reports to support production and accounting teams.
Along with Master Scheduler, focus on using data and analysis to determine the most efficient inventory levels - balancing carrying cost, lead times and production requirements.
Monitor inventory turns and report aged inventory to appropriate department for resolution.
Collaborate with cross‑functional departments—including accounting, production, and purchasing—to support company objectives and ensure data integrity.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to streamline processes and leverage technology for better efficiency.
Adhere to all company policies, safety protocols, and quality standards.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support plant operations.
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience in inventory control, materials management, or related role within a manufacturing environment.
Experience using ERP or MRP systems (JobBOSS experience preferred).
Strong mathematical aptitude and analytical problem‑solving skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and data entry systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs. as required.
Preferred: Forklift certification and ability to operate cranes and pallet jacks.
Preferred: Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.
Physical Demands
Ability to lift up to 50 LBS, lift twist, grab, stand (up to 8 to 10 hours), walk, push, pull, use both hands to lift and lower materials, and perform all other essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
