Responsibilities Medical Technologist/Medical Lab Technician (MT/MLT) responsibilities include specimen processing, test performance, and results reporting under the supervision of a Medical Technologist.

Duties

Assist leads and lab management in assigned projects.

Communicate critical values and delays to customers in a timely manner.

Complete CLIA‑required annual competencies promptly.

Actively participate in and maintain survey readiness.

Perform and review PT samples and results required by accreditation and compliance.

Follow proper QC, calibration procedures and corrective actions appropriately.

Assist in orientation and training of new and current lab associates.

Communicate with lab leadership regarding concerns affecting operations, quality, and errors.

Monitor pending workload and communicate as needed.

Attend staff meetings in person or virtually.

Assist with specimen processing, order entry and registration.

Assist in evaluation and validation of new instruments or procedures.

Perform and evaluate the validity and quality of results based on SOPs.

Communicate and handle problems with customers in a timely manner.

Qualifications Education Requirements 2‑year Associate’s Degree in an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician program or Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or training in an accredited Medical Technology program.

Work Experience Requirements Clinical experience under a licensed pathologist; new graduates are welcome with clinical rotation training.

Required Licenses / Certifications / Courses Registration eligible by ASCP or equivalent Board of Registry.
