Work hours: Full Time (36 hours); Days 6:45 am – 7:15 pm.

Department Highlights

14 Labor and Delivery Rooms

4 OB/ED bays – with 24/7 OB Hospitalists

2 OR Suites

Average between 170‑175 deliveries per month

41‑bed Postpartum/Newborn, Couplet Care

Level III Maternal designation

Level III NICU

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent and previous practice in surgical technology in a health care facility before September 1, 2009.

Graduate of an accredited surgery technology program, Vocational Nurse Program, or eligible military training program.

Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency.

1 year current operating room experience preferred.

Labor and Delivery experience highly preferred.

Certification: CST (NBSTSA) or TS‑C (NCCT), or prior employer certification in a health care facility before September 1, 2009, or completion of a qualified military training program.

LVN – Licensed Vocational Nurse upon hire.

BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to independent patient care and maintained quarterly.

CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention, maintained annually (90 days required).

What You Will Do

Intra‑operatively displaying skills and behavior conducive to the desired outcome.

Assist in providing peri‑operative care for patients ranging from infants to geriatrics.

Pre‑operatively assist RN circulator in formulating plan of care.

Coordinate patient care peri‑operatively and maintain accountability for professional standards.

Post‑operatively follow proper procedures for care of instruments, supplies, and equipment; assist RN circulator with post‑operative duties under supervision.

Assist in infection prevention practices to minimize risk of transfer and contamination.

Help ensure patient safety from injury.

Contribute to continuous improvement of quality, service, and cost effectiveness.

Demonstrate age‑specific care competence for all patient groups.
