Logistics / DOT Compliance Manager SA Recycling – South Texas Region is currently looking for a Logistics / DOT Compliance Manager to join our values-based organization. This position will be based in our Brownsville, TX facility.

Responsibilities

Ensure the safe and timely transportation of all shipments while optimizing time and cost per truck.

Lead the enforcement of safety standards and regulations across all transportation activities.

Recruit, train, supervise, evaluate, and mentor our CDL drivers.

Coordinate work assignments, transportation routes, and equipment allocation to meet operational goals efficiently.

Conduct staff meetings and actively participate in safety discussions and site safety inspections.

Drive customer satisfaction by managing all aspects of contract compliance, including KPI adherence and vehicle requirements.

Regularly assess driving and safety performance, providing detailed updates to management.

Facilitate accident investigations, ensuring thorough reporting, corrective‑action planning, and resolution of safety concerns.

Review expenditures and financial data related to profit growth, cost control, and service improvement.

Monitor schedules, client requirements, and buyer reports to confirm timely, accurate material handling and delivery.

Foster a motivated work environment by implementing measures to improve employee engagement and recognition.

Manage compliance with federal, state, local, and company policies, including DOT regulations.

Ensure drivers meet licensing, certification, and training requirements, maintaining accurate records of these qualifications.

Conduct proactive investigations alongside government agencies to enhance safety practices and reduce accident risk.

Maintain OSHA requirements, work rules, and safety protocols while maintaining thorough documentation for all processes.

Prepare, compile, and submit reports on activities such as operations, accidents, and expenditures.

Coordinate with management to address labor shortages and implement strategies for retention and hiring.

Oversee fleet vehicle and equipment maintenance, scheduling timely repairs and preventive upkeep, including ensuring weekly truck washes.

Direct fleet utilization to maximize productivity and minimize costs, analyzing route design and performance metrics regularly.

Verify vehicle inspections and arrange backup resources to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.

Collaborate with service providers to ensure efficient, cost‑effective preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

3‑5 years minimum experience in Logistics and DOT Compliance management.

Physical Requirements

Work Environment: Office and scrap‑metal yard

Equipment & Tools: Office equipment, general tools, and training with mobile equipment

Physical Demand Level: Light to moderate

Work Capacity: Lifting & carrying 35 lb loads, head turning, bending

Sensory Demands: Hearing, vision, smell, touch, and taste

Hand Movements: Repetitive motions, typing

Pay Range

$65,000 to $85,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
