Position Summary: We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Data Science to lead and create initiatives for future strategies across Walmart’s omnichannel supply chain. This high‑impact, high‑visibility role expects immediate results and involves developing a long‑term, transformative strategy for Walmart’s rapidly growing omnichannel business.

What You’ll Do – Responsibilities

Manage and execute entire analytical projects from start to finish, including cross‑functional project management, data collection and manipulation, analysis and modeling, and communication of insights and recommendations.

Build scalable and complex supply‑chain models and processes to optimize strategies with the goal of delivering an excellent customer experience while balancing operating cost and asset efficiency.

Develop original and creative solutions to improve existing business processes within supply chain, using statistical analysis, regression modeling, and optimization.

Identify areas of opportunity and influence execution of results via cross‑functional participation to enable quick wins and continuous improvement.

Create and deploy robust metrics and dashboards to enable tangible transformation.

Potential Projects

Build models to analyze the supply‑chain network needed to support future sales growth with scenario‑modeling capabilities.

Develop inventory planning and distribution strategy to optimize cost to serve and improve customer experience and stock availability.

Develop optimization logic and a tool to determine truck‑load lane strategy for outbound transportation, balancing cost and SLA requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and 5 years’ experience in an analytics‑related field; OR Master’s degree and 3 years’ experience; OR 7 years’ experience in an analytics or related field.

Preferred qualifications:

Data science, machine learning, optimization models experience; PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or Econometrics; experience with Python, Spark, Scala, or R; supervisory experience; familiarity with open‑source frameworks (e.g., scikit‑learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch); knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards and digital accessibility best practices.

Benefits Competitive base pay range: $110,000 – $220,000 per year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and stock options.
