Coordinates the scheduling for patient procedures and services.
Roles and Responsibilities
Schedules patients for procedures, including post‑operative appointments, pre‑admission testing, surgery, follow‑up, and wait‑list processing. Notifies patients in‑person and via mail with timely, complete details of procedure, location, time, and required precautions.
Maintains multiple applications for scheduling of procedures and collection of patient data; schedules location, medical staff, and clinical resources; completes accurate and timely journal entries.
Collaborates with internal and external partners to obtain resources; registers patients and ensures demographic data is entered accurately.
Communicates daily schedule changes to staff; reviews with advisor, updates staff with revisions, and posts schedules.
Acts as liaison to internal departments and external resources/agencies.
Ensures paperwork is complete and preauthorization obtained, obtains and processes referrals for procedures.
Oversees documentation of procedures and resources; maintains and tracks service and procedure usage; generates and reviews logs and enters revisions.
Contracts with vendors, coordinates delivery of equipment, and ensures equipment and resources are available for scheduled procedures.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
3–5 years of related work experience.
Experience with computer systems, web‑based applications, and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
Pay Range $21.53 – $28.97 per hour (base hourly wage). Compensation may exceed this range based on seniority, experience, location, responsibilities, shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime, and other applicable factors per law.
Vaccination Requirement All staff are required to be vaccinated against influenza (flu) as a condition of employment.
