This role is responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of all plant equipment and systems. The right candidate will manage a multimillion-dollar maintenance budget while driving continuous improvement, asset condition management, and capital project execution.
Responsibilities
Direct and oversee maintenance operations, including E&I and mechanical maintenance staff
Develop, implement, and sustain preventative and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability
Manage annual maintenance budgets exceeding $2.5M, ensuring cost-efficiency and alignment with plan goals
Oversee storeroom operations, spare parts inventory, and procurement processes
Troubleshoot and maintain process equipment including pumps, motors, gearboxes, agitators, boilers, piping, valves, tanks, and reactors
Build and execute process improvement projects for the maintenance group
Lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness across the maintenance organization
Scope, plan, and execute capital projects for maintenance replacements from concept through completion
Manage asset condition assessments and make repair/replace decisions to optimize lifecycle costs
Oversee plant audits and ensure readiness for internal and external inspections
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
Minimum of 5 years of experience managing a maintenance organization, preferably in a chemical plant
Demonstrated success managing large maintenance budgets ($2M+)
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation systems
Able to read and interpret P&IDs and electrical drawings
Experience developing and maintaining preventative maintenance programs
Experience managing CAPEX projects from scoping through execution
Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical and electrical systems
Hands‑on experience with Modicon PLCs, VFDs, and DCS systems helpful
Knowledge of reliability‑centered maintenance practices preferred
