Operations Manager – Litchfield Park, AZ
Position Summary:
Oversee daily final‑mile delivery operations, maintain warehouse safety, manage labor scheduling, and build strong relationships with 3PL partners. Lead a team of hourly associates, driving operational efficiency and customer‑centric delivery performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, coach, and develop company associates to foster accountability and high performance.
Schedule labor, manage shift planning, and monitor attendance and productivity.
Conduct safety meetings, training, and compliance audits to uphold workplace safety and operational excellence.
Build and maintain relationships with third‑party delivery partners, independent contractors, and company employees.
Oversee daily final‑mile delivery operations, ensuring efficiency, cost control, and adherence to performance metrics.
Drive a customer‑centric culture by improving on‑time delivery, reducing damages, and improving return rates.
Conduct safety inspections, risk assessments, and accident investigations, implementing corrective actions.
Maintain inventory control processes, ensuring accurate tracking and minimizing loss or damage.
Develop and execute contingency plans for seasonal demand, weather disruptions, and other logistical challenges.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent with 3–5 years of relevant distribution or manufacturing management/leadership experience, or 6–8 years of progressively responsible distribution leadership experience in lieu of a degree.
Onsite, in‑office role.
Data‑driven mindset with expertise in cost control and operational efficiency.
Ability to lead and coach an hourly employee team.
Experience managing relationships with third‑party delivery providers to maintain contractual standards.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer‑relations skills.
Highly organized and process‑oriented with a track record of completing tasks on time.
Adaptable to changing processes and evolving business requirements.
Strong technical skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Power BI reporting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Six Sigma Black Belt or demonstrated Lean Manufacturing experience.
Knowledge and execution of final‑mile delivery models, including white‑glove service and same‑day or multi‑day routing.
Exposure to furniture manufacturing, distribution, and/or big‑box distribution.
Experience in final‑mile transportation carrier contract negotiations or procurement.
Expert understanding of Safety and OSHA standards.
Physical Requirements:
Required to stand, walk, talk, and hear during duties.
Must be able to move, lift or carry heavy objects or materials up to 50–100 pounds.
